The festivities begin traditionally with the Tampere fanfare and music from Jean Sibelius. After the speeches and the performances by the top Finnish artists Waltteri Torikka and Diandra, and the national anthem of Finland, the evening will culminate in fireworks from the top of a building.
Due to the event, the Aleksis Kiven katu street will be partially closed between 4 pm and 6 pm, and the parking at the Frenckell square will be restricted on the day of the celebrations.
The festivities are expected to attract large audiences, so it is recommended for people to arrive to the square with public transport. There will be some changes in the bus routes.
