Tampere is the home to a world-renowned hostel which has won international prizes: the Dream Hostel. It is situated near the Tampere Hall, within a walking distance from the city centre. Nowadays on the upper floor from the hostel, you can also find the modern design hotel rooms of the new Dream Hotel.
Even right on the main street Hämeenkatu it is possible to overnight with a smaller budget at Omena Hotel. Omena is an on-line reservation and self-service hotel and it’s only a stone’s throw away from the Railway station, opposite to the department store Stockmann. The spacious rooms can fit up to four persons.
Budget accommodation is also offered in the city centre, in the summer hotel Aurora. The reasonably prized Aurora offers accommodation in the vicinity of Olympiakortteli offering live gigs, a beer garden and a restaurant – conveniently in the same building.
One of the most budget-friendly places is the self-service hotel Ville, in the Hatanpää district. At Ville, you can spend the night affordably in tidy rooms, only about two kilometres from the city centre. It’s located conveniently on the way from the city centre to the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre TESC.
In the same Hatanpää district, there’s also another hotel for a smaller budget: Mango Hotel. Mango is decorated in oriental style and it works through on-line bookings: you can make the reservation at all times over the internet and with the received door code you can get into your room. There are also two self-service kitchens for the customers to use.
If you’re visiting Tampere in the summertime, you can also make use of the affordable accommodation offered by Tampere Camping Härmälä on the shore of the lake Pyhäjärvi. There’s space for caravans and tents, and there are also small cabins to stay in. The area’s comprehensive services include even a rowing boat rental!

Hotel Alexander is located in Mänttä, just over an hour’s drive from Tampere. This modern city hotel in the centre of Mänttä offers budget rooms with TV, Wi-Fi, shower and toilet.
