Autumn break tips

Are you planning to have a mini break in autumn with friends, that special someone, or older children? Here are a few tips for you!

Something creepy

Särkänniemi’s Creepy Carnival draws inspiration from the exotic carnival culture and the atmosphere of the evening funfairs. In October you can also experience the lit up rides of the Särkänniemi amusement park in the darker time of year. Creepy Carnival is perfect fun for both kids and adults! In addition to the rides, the dazzling programme at the carnival will surely keep the whole family entertained. Circus and pyro artists, colourful dance act, zombie attacks and other creepy events guarantee a fun, scary day -and evening- at Särkänniemi!

All romantic

Buzzing city centre, historical red brick buildings and the sunset… Tampere is atmospheric especially in the autumn. Finland’s first roof walk, Roof Walk Finlayson Area, offers a unique experience on top of the Finlayson factory roofs. Make sure you book the guided City View route in advance! There is also the rooftop café, Café Katto, where you can have a hot drink after the roof walk.

At night time a walk along the Tammerkoski rapids is definitely the thing to add to your bucket list. Places like Kehräsaari, Verkaranta, Frenckell, Tampella and Finlayson are all part of  the industrial heritage in Tampere and are situated by the rapids. From Tammerkoski nature trail you can find information on the flora and fauna of the area.
