Christmas Atmosphere in Concerts
The Christmas season is a celebration of music! You can enjoy Christmas music in atmospheric concerts in various places.
Tampere Hall offers diverse Christmas concerts! The beloved Snowman film concert will be performed in the Great Hall on 30.11. with live music by the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra TASO conducted by Kimmo Tullila. The vocal ensemble Rajaton’s Christmas tour arrives at Tampere Hall on 2.12. and the venue hosts a Christmas party with Kaija Koo and Mikael Gabriel on 5.12. Tampere Philharmonic presents the best of Finnish orchestral music in honor of Finland’s Independence Day in their concert “Blue and White Tones” on 6.12. The traditional Christmas Revelry featuring Osmo Ikonen, Lenni-Kalle Taipale, Joonas Kaikko, and Marzi Nyman offers best fireworks of Christmas music on 8.12. Other Christmas concerts at Tampere Hall include Erja Lyytinen‘s “Blue Christmas” concert on 11.12 and Christmas concerts of Club For Five and Konsta Hietanen on 12.12. G Livelab gets into the Christmas spirit on 7.12. with Emma Salokoski & Ilmiliekki Quartet: Christmas, Christmas, Jul and Don Johnson Big Band – Xmas Special 2024 concert.
Kangasala Hall offers both lively and peaceful Christmas moods. Finnish Tango royalties Eija Kantola and Pasi Flödström bring Christmas atmosphere in the “Spirit of Christmas” concert on 3.12. Gösta Sundqvist’s Christmas songs are interpreted by the Lumos -string quartet and singers Minja Koski and Mikael Saari on 4.12. The Finnish Baroque Orchestra performs traditional British Christmas carols on 11.12. Atmospheric and touching Christmas songs will be heard when Jore Marjaranta and Olli Ahvenlahti perform on 12.12. and pop-kantele player Ida Elina brings a peaceful Christmas mood on 19.12.
Museum Milavida’s Christmas at the Palace offers concerts and sing-along event in Näsilinna. On the first Sunday of Advent, the Campanella choir creates Christmas mood with their concert on 1.12. In the Cafe Barock series concert, Ilpo Laspas performs improvised Christmas songs in baroque style on harpsichord on 8.12. Christmas carols are sung together with Duo Ajaton accompanied by piano on 22.12. Additionally, Milavida hosts a Lucia procession on 13.12 and Christmas markets on 15.12.
Raskasta joulua (Heavy christmas) will rock Nokia Arena on 14.12.! The concert features soloists such as Marko Hietala, Antti Railio, Pekka Heino, Laura Ruusumaa, Tommi “Tuple” Salmela, Tommy Karevik, Tony Kakko, JP Leppäluoto, Ville Tuomi, Antony Parviainen, Ilja Jalkanen, and Elize Ryd.
Tampere churches host several different Christmas concerts with artists such as Ilta (2.12.), Pepe Willberg (4.12.), Juha Tapio (5.12.), Johanna Kurkela (7.12.), and Suvi Teräsniska (9.12.). The traditional Christmas concert of Pirkanpojat will be held at the Tampere Cathedral on 14.12., and the Most Beautiful Christmas Carols will be sung in various churches throughout December, starting from 29.11.
The Christmas program at Culture House Laikku consists of several concerts, some of which are free to enter.
Performers from Tampere Conservatory can be heard in various locations, including Pispala Church and Laikku. The Conservatory premises near Pyynikintori host events such as the Dance Institute’s Christmas shows and music playschool Christmas parties. Students from Pirkanmaa Music Institute also perform in different venues, such as Finlayson Church, as well as at the music institute’s premises in Eteläpuisto.

Christmas show of Sorin Sirkus keeps the audience on the edge of their seats year after year! This year’s show is called Verda and promises visual spectacle, captivating rhythms, and the energy, joy, and skill of young performers.
