Easter fun for the whole family
The super-fun theatrical performance Bunny’s Spring is on show at Theatre Mukamas from 28.3.-5.4. A gentle and springy Easter fairy tale for children over 3 years old, it tells a story about friendship, small miracles and the joy of discovery. Live music and singing set the mood. The performance lasts approximately 35 minutes.
On Saturday 4.4. from 11am to 4pm, you can find a market sale with unique products by craftsmen in the Tallipiha Stable Yards. In a free craft workshop, children can make bunny ears, witch hats and magic wands! You can also get to ride a pony if you wish. In addition, the café and outdoor terrace in the Tallipiha Stable Yards will be open as usual.
The Särkänniemi Aquarium is open from Thursday to Sunday and the legendary Planetarium is open on the same days, except on Good Friday. Restaurant Näsinneula is open from Thursday to Saturday and Neula Sky Café is open almost all Easter. From Näsinneula you can admire the stunning scenery and see if the ice on lake Näsijärvi has melted.
Music for everybody
Tampere is full of gigs during Easter! On Friday 3.4. Turmion Kätilöt will perform at Tavara-asema. On Saturday 4.4. Bizi takes over the stage and later that night Tavara-asema will transform into a unique ABBA-club. During the night, you can dance to legendary hits as well as fresh remixes. Maundy Thursday offers a great opportunity to go and hear a concert by the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. The Dream of Gerontius is one of the most significant works of English choral music, and on Thursday it will be performed by the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, top British soloists and the Tampere Philharmonic Choir. On Friday 3.4 and Saturday 4.4., live music will also be available at Paja Bar, located on the street level of Solo Sokos Hotel Torni Tampere. Showtime is at 9 pm, and the artist will perform two 45-minute sets. The gigs are free. Read more here.

Interesting Museums
Vapriikki has several interesting exhibitions on display. You can spend a whole day at the museum centre, for example, exploring the Hockey Hall of Fame Finland and the only Finnish Museum of Games. The Manserock exhibition gives you an insight into the Tampere music phenomenon. The different themed rooms at The Natural History Museum offer an interesting introduction to Finnish nature. Vapriikki is closed on Friday 3.4. and Monday 6.4., but is open otherwise.
The Spy Museum is also open during Easter, except on Friday 3.4. So go and discover the famous agents and their stories! In the museum you can also find out how good of an agent you are. If you haven’t yet visited the Moomin Museum in Tampere Hall, you can do so on Saturday 4.4 and Sunday 5.4. The Moomin Museum is closed on Friday 3.4.
Many museums also organize public tours during Easter. Nootti Museum of Finnish-Russian relations organises guided tours included in the entrance fee on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 1pm. The museum is closed on Monday 6.4. The Sara Hildén Art Museum will have a guided tour of the exhibition on Sunday 5.4. from 1pm. The Tampere Art Museum also organizes open guided tours every Sunday, starting at 3pm.
Sauna and swimming
How about enjoying a sauna and open-air swimming in the crisp spring weather? For example Kaupinoja sauna is open throughout the Easter holidays. Don’t forget the traditional Rajaportti sauna or the modern Sauna-restaurant Kuuma either.

Time to eat
The brewery restaurant Plevna is open throughout Easter and the brewery’s beer shop is also open every day until 9pm during opening hours. Don’t forget the atmospheric Grill it! Paja, located in the old locomotive sheds, which is also open throughout the Easter! The legendary Ohranjyvä is open every day except Easter Monday and, in addition to its regular menu, offers a special Easter menu at a promotional price. Additionally, Restaurant Tampella, located in a beautiful setting by the Tammerkoski rapids is open on Friday and Saturday. Lillan Hotel & Kök will be serving a festive Easter brunch from Friday to Sunday. On Easter Saturday, dinner will also be available featuring a brand-new menu.

Easter events in the neighbouring towns
In Lempäälä you will find a great shopping place called Ideapark, where you can find lots of things to do at Easter! On Saturdays, PiiPoo Cultural Centre hosts Children’s Saturday, which is free of charge. PiiPoo organises fun guided activities and art workshops for children. On Sunday 5.3. Robin Packalen will perform at Ideapark. On Monday 6.3. the centre stage will be taken over by children’s favorite band Hevisaurus. Don’t forget the Ideapark Entertainment Centre on the second floor of Ideapark either!
Located in Kangasala, Children’s farm Pikkupiha will host a fun and diverse Easter adventure for the whole family on Saturday 4.4. from 10am to 4pm. At the event, visitors can take part in an activity trail, join a disco and get to know the lovely animals of Pikkupiha.
Kangasala also offers plenty to see for enthusiasts of different kinds of vehicles. Vehoniemi Automobile Museum is open throughout the Easter holiday, offering memorable moments from the history of motor vehicles. At the museum, you can admire international luxury classic cars as well as commercial vehicles from different decades. Mobilia, Finnish Museum of Cars and Roads, is also open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Mobilia has just opened a new exhibition called “Ysärijysäri,” which looks back at life in the 1990s through vehicles and cultural phenomena of the time. The exhibition also gives younger visitors a glimpse into why their parents are the way they are.
In Juupajoki, the cultural center set in a stunning old factory environment, Walleniuksen Wapriikki, is open every day during Easter from 11am to 6pm. From Saturday to Monday, a delicious Easter brunch accompanied by live music is also available. Children can enjoy a fun Easter chick hunt where they search for Easter chicks and each one they find can be exchanged for a chocolate egg.
In Sastamala, children will have a great time at The House of Mr. Clutterbuck, which is full of games and other fun. Mr. Clutterbuck loves hugs, and you can even take a photo together with him. The House is closed on Friday 3.4. and Monday 6.4., but is open otherwise.
