The Tampere Stadium in Ratina was built in 1966 and renovated in 2015 and it offers top-tier surroundings for track and field competitions, concerts and other major events. The stands can seat 16 800 spectators, of which about 4 000 fit in the main stand. The Stadium’s maximum capacity is a whopping 35 000 persons. The sports space can also be used for other purposes by erecting a stage. The Stadium’s walls have seen preliminary matches for the Euros, U20 track and field championships, a Robbie Williams concert and the Blockfest music festival. The Stadium boasts a heatable grass pitch that meets international requirements and modern sound systems and results services. The 92 m² (990 ft²) video screen can be seen from ways away. Getting to the Stadium is easy from all over Tampere using public transportation and it is located within a 15-minute walk from the railway station. As for parking, the area’s parking garages are there to help.

The Stadium’s 16 500 square metres (177 600 ft²) contain a 68 x 105 metre football field and an 8-lane 400-metre track with a Mondo surface. It also offers functional facilities for pole vault, long jump, high jump, triple jump and shot-put and other throwing events. The interior of stadium contains eight sports halls, including halls for wrestling, ballet and group gymnastics, a gym and dressing rooms. There are also conference rooms and cafes in the Stadium. When used for concerts, the Stadium’s maximum capacity is about 30 000, 16 800 of which can be seated in the stands. The stands are divided into four sections, each of which can seat some 4 000 spectators. There are also 200 seats with tables for the press and 34 VIP seats.
