“Small breweries – great beer”. It is about Tampere. This city is home to excellent microbreweries whose beer is ranked as the best in Finland or worldwide.
For instance, in 2015 and 2016 the porter beer Vahvaportteri (7.5%) and Ruby Jazz Ale (4.7%) from craft brewery of Pyynikki were recognized as the world’s best in their categories at the World Beer Awards in Berlin.
In 2017 Hopping Brewster’s Thunder Chief (5.4%) and Plevna Brewery’s Plevnan Vehnä (5.0%) were successful in Finland’s best beer competition. Plevna Brewery’s Weizen Bock (7.5%) won in the category of wheat beers in 2018. Weizen Bock renewed its victory from 2015. In the second place came Hopping Brewster’s Porco Bianco (4,9 %) american wheat beer. Other beers from Tampere that were awarded was Pyynikki Craft Brewery’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (13.0%), which came second in the category “other beers”.
