The exhibition depicts the events that took place in Tampere in the spring of 1918. Perspectives are offered by the fighters on both sides, but civilians and onlookers are not overlooked either. The exhibition presents a large cross-section of society at war, from children and old people to workers and factory managers. A powerful collection of items gathered from the battlefields and streets of Tampere in spring 1918, now part of Tampere museums’ collections, tell their haunting story. The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Department of History at the University of Tampere.
