MapSince 1997, Tampere city’s one and only professional dance theatre represents the cutting edge of contemporary dance. The Hällä Stage is home to a continuous spectrum of dance pieces that light up, move and inspire audiences of all ages from generation to generation while reflecting our core values – collaboration, co-creation and inclusiveness.
MD keeps on providing contemporary dance for all ages, grounded in movement, blooming with emotion – putting smiles on people’s faces and bringing tears to their eyes.
During our first quarter century, MD has provided audiences with a total of 107 productions including 84 originals, 23 collaborations with theatre and opera companies and other artists, 18 family-friendly shows and two performances for young adults.
In addition, MD provides tailored workshops and special bookings for groups, such as body maintenance dance courses for workplaces, pre-show tune-ups and intro discussions, technical tours of Hällä for students, and much more.
MD productions can be tailored to fit various venues and occasions from grand stages to kindergartens, face-to-face encounters, corporate events and street shows. You can also book a select slice from a show for your event, be it a seminar, a private party or a festival. You name it, MD brings it!
