Tampere Guitar Festival is a yearly event focusing on classical guitar. The 18th Tampere Guitar Festival will be held in Tampere between 8-11 June 2022. The festival will feature concerts, guitar courses and free lectures. Tickets and registration for courses is now open.
Many interesting artists will be arriving in Tampere in June. Among them are Italian Carlo Marchione and Swedish Jacob Kellermann who both are performing for the first time in Finland.
Carlo Marchione is one of the most valued classical guitarists and also a sought-after teacher. He is also known as a brilliant arranger. Music by Telemann, Schumann and Schubert among others will be heard in his concert. With his versatility, Jacob Kellermann represents the younger generation of guitarists. He will be performing together with violist Göran Fröst. The Finnish premiere of Tommie Haglund’s Beyond Farewell, which was composed in memory of Julian Bream, will be heard at the concert. Both Marchione and Kellermann will be lecturing and holding master classes during their visit.
Jukka Orma, who has played in Sielun Veljet and Hassisen kone, will give a club concert at G Livelab Tampere. Together with his band, Orma will perform new versions of well-known Finnish tango songs from his album, Argentiinan Pusta, which was released last December.
