The exhibition has been inspired by the meditation book “The Cloud of Unknowing,” which appeared in England in the 14th century – probably written by a monk or priest. The author states that it is fruitless to seek the truth of existence through intellect – it must be done with love and by taking a naked step into the unknown darkness. “Do not think – love!”

Gunzi Holmström works intuitively and addresses his own experiences of the spiritual dimension, the sacredness of life, and the mystery of the cosmos in his art. In his paintings, he is particularly interested in the symbolist and surrealist traditions as well as visual storytelling from the Middle Ages. The exhibition also features sculptures.
