Top pianist playing Schubert and Rachmaninoff in his rare Finnish concert!
One of the most successful Finnish pianists, Antti Siirala, will perform in a rare Finnish concert in November 2019 in Tampere Hall. The piano concert will feature Schubert’s Piano Sonata in D major D. 850 and Rachmaninoff’s Ten Preludes, Op. 23.
Siirala has won the Leeds International Piano Competition and the International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna, among others. He has received praise for his rich tone colours, distinctive song-like phrasing and intelligent expression. In addition, Siirala has recorded music by Schubert and Brahms. His albums have been awarded by the Gramophone magazine.
After the concert, an artist interview will take place in the Small Auditorium. Antti Siirala will be interviewed by Suvi Leinonen, Tampere Hall’s producer of classical music. The interview is in Finnish.
Concert is part of the Pirkanmaa Piano Festival.
