Tampere Cappella Chamber Choir welcomes guest conductor Lodewijk van der Ree for a November concert, titled “Da pacem,” on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Tampere Cathedral. This marks Van der Ree’s debut as the choir’s first international guest conductor.

The concert features Herbert Howells’ beautiful Requiem, Renaissance music by Orlando di Lasso, and modern compositions by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt and Dutch composer Ton de Leeuw. The performance lasts approximately 1 hour without an intermission. Lodewijk van der Ree, a conductor and tenor from the Netherlands, studied choral conducting in Amsterdam and currently leads the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. He has a history of directing various choirs and ensembles in both the Netherlands and Estonia and received the prestigious Kersjes Fonds conductor’s prize in 2019.
