Finland’s most prominent jazz pianist and composer, Iiro Rantala, is an ambitious and brilliant musician and a jazz powerhouse who always gives his all. He often crosses over the genre categories with a chuckle, and does the same in his new show, Twelve Months. Like Vivaldi before him, Rantala draws inspiration from the seasons, typically at least four in Finland. Rantala plays through the entire calendar year, all twelve months from January to December. His compositions reflect the moods of people as they are intrinsically linked with the weather, nearly always a disappointment.
