International Day of Yoga

International Day of Yoga 17 June 2019, Tampere.

In 2014, the United Nations recognised June 21st as the International Yoga Day. Since then the Government of India and the Indian Embassies abroad have been celebrating Yoga Day in the third week of June, globally and in India.

The Embassy of India is organising the International Day of Yoga in Tampere on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 17:00-18:30hrs at Atalpa Sports Hall, Ratapihankatu 55, Tampere. Participation is free of charge.

At this event, you can learn and practise traditional Indian yoga, with guidance from professional Yoga instructors. You don’t need the knowledge of yoga to participate in the event – all you need to do is follow the exercises shown by the instructors. The Yoga Day celebration is of 90 minutes and will include some basic yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation.

The common yoga protocol is being followed to celebrate the Yoga Day globally.
