World of Tango Festival

In September, the 14th World Tango Festival will be celebrated with the theme “Viva la vida!” at Culture House Telakka and Culture House Laikku, in Tampere, Finland September 16-18, 2022. The festival takes place this year for the last time.

World of Tango Festival’s Library Tour offers Argentine tango dance lessons for beginners, a life drawing workshop, concerts by singer-songwriter Nina Kaitaranta, Kielo Kärkkäinen, and Janne Laurila, and poetry performances by Lili Salinmäki and Ilmari Lyymä. The Library Tour begins on September 3rd at Sastamala library and Hervanta library. Free entrance.

Pre-programme 2.-15.9. presents interesting music performances, art exhibition openings, beer tasting and French evening.

World of Tango Festival itself is focused on the art of tango, but other music styles are also part of the good athmosphere. And of course, there are lots of dance related events like milongas, Argentine tango dance course, dance performances and the Finnish old tango dance championships on September 17th.
