Columbia Icefield is the name of trumpeter Nate Wooley’s latest album and also the quartet behind it. Explorations of nature and humanity are portrayed and reflected through the largest Icefield in the Rocky Mountains, which also gave the project its name. The music of the quartet is electrically spiced free jazz with a sense of serenity and a strong dose of personality.
