The Tampere Festival of Light opening ceremony will take place on Friday 27 October from 7 to 7.30 pm in Koskipuisto.

The event will feature performances by Emmelie de Forest, the 2013 Danish Eurovision winner, and Anneli Saaristo, who represented Finland at the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest with her song “La Dolce Vita”. The event will be hosted by radio journalist Pauliina Puurila. The Mayor of Tampere, Kalervo Kummola, will give the opening speech

The Dancing Waters show will close the opening ceremony this year with a Eurovision theme.

Admission to the opening ceremony is free.
