Teekkari Dipping

The traditional Teekkari students May Day celebration culminates in a dip in the icy Tammerkoski at Koskipuisto Park, where people gather to watch and cheer the students.

The traditional student ceremony is preceded by a freshmen procession, which starts from Amurinpuisto at 12:30 and heads towards Koskipuisto along Puutarhankatu. The best places to watch the procession are the sidewalks of Puutarhankatu, the open areas of Kirjastonpuisto Park and the Satakunta bridge, from where you can see the dam bridge perfectly.
