Welcome to the Christmas opening in the center of Tampere! Come to follow the happy parade participants and celebrate Christmas at Tampere Keskustori on Saturday late afternoon.
Traditional opening of Christmas in the center of the town has been an event that brings joy to many for years. The event is organized by Tampere Tunnetuksi ry.
The Christmas parade starts on Saturday 23rd of November at 4 pm from the main library by Metso, continue through Hämeenpuisto boulevard to Puutarhakatu, Aleksis Kiven katu and from there to Keskustori Central square. The parade includes Santa Claus, happy animal friends and, among other things, brass band Tampereen Kotkien Puhallinorkesteri.
After the musical performances, we count down the seconds together until the Christmas tree lights are turned on, which happens around 4.30 pm Riikka Töytäri, executive director of Tampere Tunnetuksi ry, will give the Christmas opening speech.
Children can meet Santa Claus at Keskustori, where 30 stalls are open in the Tampere Christmas Market area, and both restaurants in the area are open for example mulled wine!
