Van Gogh Alive comes to Finland – an immersive art experience opens at Tampere Hall in June!
This summer, Tampere Hall offers a unique opportunity to discover the art and colourful world of Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890). Van Gogh Alive is a sensory-tickling art experience for the whole family, created and produced by Grande Experiences Australia.
One of the world’s most popular immersive art experiences has toured over 100 cities and been seen by more than 9 million visitors. Now the exhibition is coming to Finland for the first time. This is not just any art exhibition. With over 3,000 images, the experience explores Vincent van Gogh in a way that takes over the walls, columns, ceiling and floor of the exhibition space. The works are accompanied by classical music appropriate to the artist’s time.
After two years of development, Van Gogh Alive, which combines art, technology, music and scents, was launched in 2011. The exhibition uses the SENSORY4™ system, developed by Grande Experiences, which combines multi-channel motion graphics with a cinema-quality surround sound audio system. The technology allows any exhibition space to be transformed into a dynamic, informative and visually immersive experience.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover the sources of van Gogh’s inspiration and life through photographs and videos that run alongside the works. The multi-sensory experience continues in the exhibition’s pop-up shop and at Restaurant Tuhto, where a three-course van Gogh menu and a café inspired by the artist will be served.
