We use single or double kayaks suitable for expeditions. If you prefer to bring your own kayak, that is also possible. If needed, you can rent camping equipment from us for the duration of the trip, unless you have your own gear. Prevailing wind conditions may cause changes to the route or schedule. The trip may also be canceled if weather conditions do not allow for a safe trip at the planned time, and if it’s not possible to reschedule.
During the trips, we camp in tents at designated camping sites. We depart for the trips from Tampere at around 10 a.m. on the departure day and return to Tampere by 10 p.m. on the return day. If you are joining from somewhere other than Tampere, we will agree on a meeting point, the trip’s starting location, and the departure time, so you can meet us there by your own means.
Luonteri is a clear-water section of Lake Saimaa located in Southern Savonia, in the areas of Mikkeli, Juva, and Puumala. The lake is ideal for kayaking trips, and Neitvuori, often called the “Switzerland of Savonia,” rises majestically on the shores of Luonteri. It’s also possible to see the Saimaa ringed seal, and the area has several camp harbors. Daily distances are a maximum of approximately 20 km.
