3-day kayaking tour to Päijänne National park. Price includes kayaks, lifevests, paddles, spraydecks and paddling guide. There are 40 national parks in Finland, and many of them are excellent for kayaking trips. We organize trips to the national parks best suited for kayaking. Each trip accommodates a maximum of 10 participants.
We use single or double kayaks suitable for expedition use, and if you prefer to bring your own kayak, that is also possible. If needed, you can rent camping equipment from us for the duration of the trip, unless you have your own gear. Prevailing wind conditions may cause changes to the route or schedule. The trip may also be canceled if the weather conditions do not allow for a safe trip at the planned time, and if it is not possible to reschedule.
During the trips, we camp in tents at designated camping sites within the national parks. We depart for the trips from Tampere at around 10 a.m. on the departure day and return to Tampere by 10 p.m. on the return day. If you are joining from somewhere other than Tampere, we will agree on a meeting point, the starting location, and the departure time, so you can meet us there by your own means.
The heart of Päijänne National Park, Kelvenne, is one of the largest and most magnificent esker islands in Finland, shaped by the last Ice Age. A hiking trail (about 9 km) runs through the island of Kelvenne, from Kirkkosalmi to Likolahti, and is mostly easy to traverse. Daily distances are a maximum of approximately 20 km.
