The new Moomin animation series created by the Finnish Gutsy Animations, Moominvalley, will premiere in Helsinki, on January 25th 2019. The Moomin Museum and the Tampere Hall arrange a premiere gala and preview for the true moomin fans of the series, that will only be shown in Finnish television a month later.
What would be a more authentic setting to tune into the world of the new moomin animation than the world’s only Moomin Museum in Tampere? The fan event starts at the Moomin Museum, which will be open only for the VIP-guests starting from 6 pm. After visiting the museum, the guests will join the celebrations in Helsinki premiere live via streaming, and then move on to a private showing of the first episode on Moominvalley, with movie snacks of course. The episode is in English, subtitled in Finnish and Swedish. There’s also a chance to win a trip to the Moominvalley animation studio Anima Vitae in Helsinki. The prize is for two people.
Tove Jansson donated a collection of the original illustrations to Tampere Art Museum in 1986. The illustrations and 3-dimensional tableaux by Tuulikki Pietilä have been a great inspiration and help for the makers of the new Moominvalley animation, who have visited the Moomin Museum several times to study and admire the works.
The event ticket includes the preview at the Maestro hall in Tampere Hall, movie snacks and admission to the Moomin Museum. There will only be one showing and there are 200 tickets available, at the price of 29 euros.
Tickets are available at Lippu.fi web shop and the ticket office of the Tampere Hall starting from 9 am on January 12th.
