Visit Tampere Ltd. organizes a unique Instagram photo camp on November 24-27 in Tampere. Five popular nature Instagrammers from different countries have been invited to join the Insta Camp. What makes this camp exceptional is that the Instagrammers, who are used to capturing breathtaking nature photos, arrive to Tampere in November, when the Finnish nature is at its bleakest.
– Summer is traditionally the busiest season for people to travel to Tampere. We want to invest in Tampere to be found throughout the year, as the Sauna Capital of the World along with its nature offer experiences and flavours at all seasons. The concept of the Insta Camp started to build around this idea, says Visit Tampere’s specialist in marketing and communications, Olga Javits.
Visit Tampere carries out the camp in cooperation with Visit Finland, as well as hosts the camp together with one of the most famous Finnish Instagrammers, Daniel Taipale. Taipale knows the hidden gems of the region and Finland in general. Another Finnish nature photographer, Julia Kivelä, will also be participating in the camp.
– Taipale and Kivelä are an outstanding asset in helping us to present the Finnish culture to first time visitors, Javits rejoices.
Other Instacampers are Magomed Shapiev from Russia, Julian Herbig from Germany and Ása Steinarsdóttir from Iceland. Altogether these Instagrammers have some 600 000 followers. Insta Camp is made possible also by Hertz, Kupilka and Sauna Restaurant Kuuma. Photo challenge also challenges the top chef Photographing in lousy weather, in the middle of the forest, is combined with great food at the Visit Tampere Insta Camp. The camp is carried out in cooperation with the Tulli Sauna & Bistro who will “lend” their chef Sakari Savolainen to create some of the best treats from the Finnish Lakeland for the campers. Savolainen will be cooking for the Instagrammers out in the open air at Helvetinjärvi national park and Kintulammi outdoor area.
– The chef’s cooking skills will be put to a proper test at Kintulammi, where Savolainen will be preparing his menu, created for this camp, over an open fire at a public campfire site, at the mercy of mother nature, Javits explains. – Food is an essential part of the nature adventure that we’re offering. Some of the participants have never been to Finland before, nor have they tasted any of our local delicacies. Since the camp takes place in the rural area, the campers will not be able to enjoy the diverse restaurant offerings of Tampere. It is however important to us that we can offer them a chance to do just that, and to share also food related contents in their channels, Javits continues.
