Western Lakeland project receives the Scandinavian Outdoor Award on Best Development

The Scandinavian Outdoor Award TRAVEL for the Nordic countries has been presented for the first time to the travel audience in Central Europe with the focus on German-speaking countries at ITB in Berlin in March 2018.

SOA TRAVEL will be given out to travel destinations and tourism companies once a year and reflects on the previous years’ achievements. The jury consists of some of the most important tour operators specialized in outdoor and adventure travel in Scandinavia, travel experts and destination managers.

The official award ceremony was held at ITB in Berlin in March 2019 and the award in the category Best Development was given to Visit Tampere, Visit Hämeenlinna, Visit Lahti and Visit Jyväskylä on their cooperative Western Lakeland project. The award is given to the project with the best vision, networking and innovation. Western Lakeland is a joint marketing project for the Tampere, Hämeenlinna, Lahti and Jyväskylä regions – the Western Lakeland of Finland.
