Aitolahti Church - Visit Tampere

Aitolahti Church

Aitolahti Church was consecrated in September 2001. The church was built next to a red-brick parish hall designed by Pentti Turunen in 1980. The older building is used for children and youth work. The dominating element of the church is a massive red-brick wall, which is why the church is called The Bulwark. The wall represents the hand of God that protects the parishioners as they come together.
