Lake Iidesjärvi is a bird lake in the heart of Tampere. For bird watching, there is a bird observation tower at the eastern end of the lake that has been recently renovated. The best time to watch birds is spring. The lake and its reedbed are still home to diverse birds, e.g. a laughing gull community, a great crested grebe, a goldeneye, a gallinulea tentacle, a nightingale, a reedbird and a warbler.

The Iidesjärvi nature trail starts at the bird observation tower and is about 7 km long. In addition to birds, the route includes meadows and beach shrubbery with their diverse vegetation.
