The Gösta Serlachius Art Foundation maintains two museums, both of which are rooted in the history of the Serlachius family, the forest company and the small paper town that collected paper and art.
The Art Museum Museum also hosts a number of varied exhibitions every year and always brings out pearls from the collections of the Gösta Serlachius Art Foundation, which are among the largest private art collections in the Nordic countries. Art Museum Gösta’s exhibits spread into two buildings: a mansion that was once home to Gösta Serlachius’s and pavilion, a masterpiece of modern wood architecture.
The Gustaf Museum tells stories. At the former headquarters of Serlachius Corporation, the enthusiastic and surprising exhibitions combine with the colorful history of the house and its magnificent architecture.
The Serlachius bus operates between Mänttä-Vilppula and Tampere at the museum’s opening days: Winter time 1.9.-31.5. from Tuesday to Sunday and summer time 1.6.-31.8. every day.
