HOAX, located in the Bonker Moodcourt by the Tampere railway station is a fully vegan junk food restaurant that offers a true taste experience. The colorful and over-the-top restaurant charms both vegans and non-vegan. The urban and playful space feels like a miniature restaurant world. While you’re there, make sure to check out the Tacos ‘n’ Tequila restaurant and the Noob Arcade bar. Finding the place might take a bit of effort for the first time, but the experience is well worth it. And you’ll want to come back again!
Bistro Papu & Pata
Vegetarian food and the beautiful lakeside views of Laukontori are an unbeatable combination. Bistro Papu & Pata is located in the historic Laukonkulma building in Tampere. In a relaxed and cozy setting, you can enjoy a tasty weekday lunch or spend an evening on the weekend. The lunch menu offers several vegetarian dishes served at the table. On weekends, the menu offers more options and changes seasonally.
Muusa
When you step through the doors of the Olympiakortteli, Olympic Quarter, into Muusa, the laid-back vibe, quality drinks and delicious food will sweep you away! Muusa offers a variety of treats for vegans and vegetarians. The restaurant’s bang bang cauliflower wings and the Sunday brunch are already becoming Tampere classics. And what’s most convenient, you can continue your evening in the same place! Enjoy the city’s best cocktails at Tiima or a gig at Olympia. In the summer, the rooftop garden is also open, inviting you to eat and enjoy the great atmosphere.
Restaurant Kajo
Restaurant Kajo surprises. It’s a place where local ingredients are bravely experimented with. The philosophy of the restaurant is to use ingredients responsibly from start to finish, creating inspiring taste experiences. The Ode to Nature menu is built from the best seasonal local ingredients. The menu is always available in a vegetarian version, but with advance notice, it can also be fully vegan.
Vegetarian restaurant Gopal
In the heart of lively Tammela district, the vegetarian restaurant Gopal has been operating since 1997. Just a stone’s throw away from the city centre, Gopal is a favourite for many, as the buffet is available throughout the entire opening hours. Located near the bustling Tammelantori market square and several vintage shops, Gopal operates on a pay-by-weight system, which also helps reduce food waste!

At the meze restaurant Zeytuun, you’ll find tasty and diverse vegetarian dishes. Have you already tried Maranga’s vegan gyros pita pocket? How about the Vegan Salami Toast at Gastropub Soho or Vetanat, vegan snails, at Bistro Vilja? In the summer time, check out Rillinki in Hämeenpuisto and try their Kapsalon or Viivet. Surprisinly, the Tampere classic Vaakon Nakki kiosk in Pispala offers many vegan dishes!
At the Vietnamese restaurant Whatever, most of the delightful buffet dishes are vegan. Don’t forget about Lie Mi and their delicious Shanghai tacos, available with tofu filling, for example. Biang!, located on Hämeenkatu street near the Tampere railway station, also serves delicious vegetarian dishes.
Most of the selection at Café & Bakery Mimosa, on Itsenäisyydenkatu street, is vegan. Also, try the vegan sandwich at Onda Music & Arts Café – a delicious lunch option!
