Tampere Christmas Opening 21.11.
Tampere’s traditional Christmas opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, 21 November, at 16-18. The Christmas Parade will set off at 16 from the main library Metso and make its way all the way to Keskustori Central Square, where the final seconds will be counted together before the Christmas tree lights are switched on.
Santa Claus will also make an appearance on stage, along with a variety of other festive entertainment. This year, the programme will expand from the Central Square to Laikunpuisto park, offering plenty of wonder and festive cheer until 18.
Tampere Christmas Market 21.11.–22.12.
Tampere Christmas Market fills the Keskustori Central Square with warm and cozy Christmas atmosphere! Little wooden booths are filled with handicrafts, design, jewellery, treats, toys and much more from Finland and abroad. You can also try the delicious dishes and snacks of the cafés and restaurants in the area or enjoy the daily programme.
The Christmas Market will open partially, with visitors able to get into the festive spirit on 21.11. In addition to the restaurant and the Munkkikahvila café, some of the huts selling food products and handicrafts will be open from then until 22 December. From Saturday, 28.11., all the huts will be open every day.
The area around Laikunlava will be transformed into a magical ice park, building excitement for the World Figure Skating Championships taking place in Tampere in March 2027. The ice park will officially open on Saturday, 21 November, and will be open daily at 9-21 until 20 December.

Hiedanranta Christmas opening 28.–29.11.
The Christmas opening event weekend program in Hiedanranta includes a Christmas market, live music, workshops and delicious food in an atmospheric factory and manor environment. The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, 28.–29.11. at 11-17.
Tallipiha Stable Yards’ Christmas 14.11.–23.12.
In the beautiful wooden houses of Tallipiha Stable Yards you can find shops, boutiques and a café with delicious treats, hot beverages and freshly baked goods. Little booths at the yard are filled with quality handicrafts and design. Find perfect Christmas gifts!
At Tallipiha Stable Yards, you can meet animal friends such as Torsti and Ensio the sheep, Vilho the donkey and Lassi the pony.
Christmas at the Palace 17.11.–10.1.
Museum Milavida will once again be transformed into a magical Christmas setting, and Christmas at the Palace will transport visitors back to the festive atmosphere of an upper-class household in the 19th century in Tampere. Complementing the The Nottbecks – Cosmopolitans of Tampere exhibition, the experience showcases Christmas traditions of the era, including festive foods, decorations, gifts and celebrations, brought to life through guided tours, objects and stories.
The programme also features a wide range of events, including Christmas decoration workshops, concerts, themed guided tours and Christmas markets.
The area between Tallipiha Stable Yards and Milavida will also be illuminated with seasonal lighting.
Doghill Christmas 11.–13.12. & 18.–20.12.
Doghill Christmas takes you to traditional Finnish Christmas at the Doghill Fairytale Farm at Särkänniemi amusement park! There you’ll meet Doghill’s animal friends. Doghill Christmas is full of fun activities and entertainment.
Christmas Carols at Tammela Stadium 12.12.
Beloved Christmas songs, warm mulled wine, a Christmas market and communal singing will fill Tammela Stadium on Saturday 12.12. as the new Christmas Carols at the Stadium event takes place for the first time.
Christmas market will also be held at Tammela Stadium on the same day at 11-15.
