Laivaranta is a harbor and recreation area that serves boaters, vacationers and residents of the area as a comfortable activity and relaxation place for the whole family.
You can arrive at Laivaranta with your own car or, for example, on the old steam ship S/s Tarjanne. Its route goes from Tampere to Virrat and back, and it stops in three ports in Ruovesi. During the trip, passengers can experience the sound of the famous steam whistle and enjoy the cuisines of the restaurant designed by the famous Finnish painter Akseli Gallen-Kallela. You can also watch and listen to the arriving ship from the terraces of the harbor’s restaurants. In the area there are also ice cream kiosk, barbecue areas, swimming beach, children playground and kayaking center.
Reservation of boat berths (long-term berthing) venepaikat@ruovesi.fi or +358 44 787 1252.
Ruovesi marina can accommodate about 120 boats. Piers A and B are reserved for people with season-long berthing. Pier C acts as a guest pier for short-term berthing subject to daily charges. No reservations are taken for short-term berthing: if there is space on Pier C, anyone can berth there and, whenever a boat leaves, the berth is freed up for the next user. The new part of Pier A also has some space: berths that have a blue sign reading “VARATTU” are reserved for people with season-long berthing but berths without signs can be used freely.
