Tampere Art Museum, opened in 1931, is Finland’s third oldest art museum. The museum building, designed by C. L. Engel and built in 1838, is Tampere’s third oldest building. You can find the beautiful redbrick museum building by the historical Pyynikintori market place. It is easily accessible by public transportation like the tram.
In its exhibition programme, the Tampere Art Museum presents a wide range of art historical themes and contemporary art from Finland and abroad. The museum is especially known for the annual Young Artist of the Year event and exhibition. In addition, the Tampere Art Museum delivers various urban art projects.
