Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) is a free programme developed by Visit Finland to help tourism businesses and destinations build sustainable tourism. The programme provides a clear step-by-step path and practical tools for developing responsible practices. Businesses and destinations that meet the criteria can receive the STF label, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable tourism.
Caravan parking / motorhome overnight stop for one camper or caravan in the serene courtyard of Kommee Kurki accommodation services only 60 km from Tampere. Available from June until late autumn. Stop-over price includes electricity, fireplace, shower and water tank filling. The unique Bedford carriage sauna is also bookable for a sauna shift (extra fee).
The cosy courtyard corner for caravan use is graveled and nicely shaded by a large maple tree. There is the caravan’s own campfire site on the edge of the field (a small extra fee for firewood). Pets are also welcome to this caravan parking.
The stopover site is available from 14:00 and check-out is at 12:00.
The nearby bird lake is home to cranes and whooper swans, and these large birds make the soundscape in the area so special. The cranes also often fly over the yard to feed in the nearby fields, so every now and then you can see a spectacular overflight of a crane.
There is a large play area for children in the courtyard with swings and a big trampoline. On the other side of the courtyard, next to the vacation house building, there is a small sandpit, slide and a traditional garden swing.
The parking site itself and the campfire site are accessible, but there are stairs to the Bedford sauna where also the shower is.
