Tourism data

Up-to-date data, forecasting and knowledge-based management are key tools that allow tourism companies to develop their operations to meet their customers' needs more effectively and efficiently.

Tourism data of Tampere Region

The attached Power BI report on key data sources and visualizations for tourism operators in Tampere Region is designed as a tool for knowledge-based management and forecasting. The report, which was created as a result of a previous TJANSSI project, has just been updated to be more comprehensive in content and easier to use and more visual.

The most important tourism data sources and visualizations have been identified for the Power BI report in cooperation with tourism companies in the region. A better understanding of the current state of the tourism industry helps companies to develop their operations in a knowledge-based manner and also enables longer-term forecasting and knowledge-based management in companies.

Metsähallitus

Visitor data is a key tool also for managing sustainable tourism. For example Metsähallitus provides an up-to-date overview of visitor numbers in protected natural areas. This data helps build a comprehensive understanding of tourism in nature: when visitor numbers peak, how demand varies seasonally, and how the use of different sites evolves over time. By utilising this data, it is possible to promote sustainable tourism, distribute visitor flows more evenly, and support the long-term wellbeing of natural environments.
