Tampere Airport, officially Tampere-Pirkkala Airport, is the second largest international airport in Finland as almost 100% of its passengers are travelling internationally. In total passenger numbers it is the fourth biggest in Finland.
Airport is located approximately 17 km away from the city center of Tampere and it is easily reached also from west and north. Transportation connections make it ideal from all directions.
Year-round there are several daily flight connections to Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland and flights six days a week to Riga, Latvia. Additionally, there are all-year-round flights to Budapest, Hungary and seasonal direct flights to Bremen, Germany. Tampere-Pirkkala is very important for region’s economy and an important connection point to Europe. Tampere Airport is a joint airfield, which serves both civil and military aviation.
There are two passenger terminals in use at Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Finnair and airBaltic are operating flights to Tampere year-round from Stockholm, Arlanda, Helsinki-Vantaa and Riga, Latvia. Seasonal flight connections from Bremen, Germany and all-year-round flights from Budapest, Hungary are offered by low cost airline Ryanair.
Additionally there are several charter flights operated by different carriers.
