Experiences at height and by the water
The Roof Walk Finlayson Area takes you onto the roof of a historic factory building, where you can enjoy views of the Tammerkoski National Landscape. This summer’s new experience, Coffee and buns on the rooftop, invites you to enjoy coffee and freshly baked buns while taking in the views from the rooftop walk at the foot of the iconic Finlayson sign. Särkänniemi’s new rollercoaster, Konect, invites daredevils from just one metre tall to hop on board with an adult. This unique rollercoaster has been designed specifically for Särkänniemi, so you won’t find anything like it anywhere else. While you’re there, pop in to say hello to the animals at Doghill Fairytale Farm and admire the views from Näsinneula. Explore everything Särkänniemi has to offer here.
Viikinsaari is a green oasis in the heart of the city. Hop on a boat from Laukontori and escape for a perfect summer’s day on the island. Hire equipment for outdoor and water activities at the Viikinsaari information point, unwind in the gentle warmth of the lakeside sauna, and enjoy delicious food and refreshments from the island’s cafés and food stalls.
T3Park, a massive floating water park located in Eteläpuisto in Tampere and Vesaniemi in Kangasala, offers brilliant fun for swimmers of all ages!
Exhibitions and culture
Tampere Hall’s Game On summer exhibition is an interactive experience for the whole family, where visitors can explore the history and evolution of video games by playing them. With more than 100 games to try, there’s something for every generation. The exhibition is open until 9 August. Read more here.
To celebrate the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, football fever is taking over the Vapriikki Museum Centre! Football World Cup Through the Ages exhibition takes you back to the unforgettable atmosphere of past tournaments. The Finlayson area is set for an eventful summer. The traditional Finlayson Art Area will be open, as well as a new addition, the Taidevaltakunta ‘26 Biennale. There will also be multiple live concerts in Väinö Linna Square and children’s concerts will also delight the youngest members of the family. You can find more information here.
Anish Kapoor, one of the world’s most significant contemporary artists, brings his paintings to Serlachius, which features eternal questions, his non-objects and a new monumental sculpture. Read more here.
Head out into nature
From July onwards, the Outdoor Express shuttle buses will once again be running on summer weekends from Tampere city centre to the Seitseminen, Helvetinjärvi and Isojärvi National Parks. Check the detailed timetables and buy tickets here.
