On the Roine route the famous Roine waves (as described in the song “Summer Day in Kangasala”, known for beautifully portraying the Finnish summer landscape and atmosphere. The song is also the Provincial Anthem of Pirkanmaa.) beckon the cyclist with picturesque landscapes. The ridges on the eastern side of the route present challenges but reward their conquerors many times over. The national landscapes visible from the ridge’s observation tower have inspired well-known artists and horizon painters from generation to generation.
