Creepy autumn, light art and some lovely atmosphere

Creepy Carnival in Särkänniemi is coming again! The most terrifyingly entertaining event of the autumn takes place in Särkänniemi 4.–6.10. and 10.–19.10.2024. Creepy Carnival gets its inspiration from exotic carnival culture and night time fairs. In October, you get to experience Särkänniemi and its beautifully lit amusement park rides in the atmospheric twilight darkness of autumn evenings. Creepy Carnival is an event for all ages! It might be even a bit scary for the little ones. Remember to dress up properly due to the weather!

Hämärät tunnit event will be organized at Tallipiha Stable Yards on Friday 11 and 18 of Oct between 6 and 10pm. Shops and café are open and there’s music as well. Enjoy the great atmosphere in mood lighting!

Media and Light Event Projio will amaze the whole family during the six-day event from Oct 17 to 22 at Finlayson Area. The media and light art event will be held for the fifth time in the outdoor and indoor gallery spaces of the Finlayson area.

Adventure time and activities

Another great way to explore the Finlayson area Unfold Finlayson adventure. This adventure is a mixture of innovative problem solving, fascinating places and beautiful views overlooking the city as well as Lake Näsijärvi. If you’re looking for a memorable experience while in town – look no further! The game is not recommended for children under 12.

If you love escape rooms, the place to visit is Room Escape. All the rooms are suitable for the whole family and they are not scary at all.

In Varala Sports Institute children and families can have fun and active times in sport camps and climb trees in Flowpark Varala.

Fun stuff at museums and shopping centres

During the autumn break, Museum Centre Vapriikki is open from Monday to Sunday. Each day has its own theme as well! There are plenty of workshops and other programe for all ages.

There are exciting things to see in Spy museum. Don’t forget to try the legendary agent test! Museum is open daily.

The world’s only Moomin museum is an experiential art museum for Moomin fans and art lovers of all ages. There’s Light in the darkness! – autumn holiday programme from from 12 to 20 of October. Please note that the Moomin museum is closed on Monday 14th of October.

Ratina shopping centre has playareas for children and interesting shops to visit. On the autumn holiday week, there’s a pet event where you can meet tiny pets and on Thursday 17th, you can meet alpacas as well.

Located in Lempäälä, shopping centre Ideapark Lempäälä also has special programme for children at Cultural Centre PiiPoo. In Ideapark you can also meet the Moomins on Wednesday 16th of Oct at 1-5.20pm!

Just around the corner!

The House of Mr. Clutterbuck in Sastamala is an exciting and active world based on the characters from Mauri Kunnas’s popular children’s books. In Sastamala you should also visit Pukstaavi, the Museum of Finnish Book, as well as restaurant & cafe Funkkistalo which also offers concerts.

Mobilia in Kangasala is the museum for road and motor transport. Museum offers things to see and for the whole family. Make sure to check the Rally Museum! In addition to interesting rally cars and a wealth of historical information, the Rally Museum offers you the chance to test your driving skills with the two-player Sega Rally, a legendary classic game from the 1990s.

Serlachius is a sustainable cultural attraction amid beautiful Finnish lakeside nature in Mänttä. Beside art, architecture and history Serlachius offers culinary and sauna experiences.
