In Tampere, students celebrate vappu for nearly three weeks, which makes it the Finland’s largest Wappu! One of the highlights of Vappu is the traditional dipping of first-year engineering students into the Tammerkoski rapids, marking their transition into true “teekkaris”. This event has huge crowds and people all around Tampere gather to watch it.
