Step into joy at Särkänniemi‘s events! The amusement park, which turns 50 this year, brings plenty of fun and little surprises to the summer. The anniversary year will kick off in spectacular style on May 1st 2025, when Hugo, a favourite artist of the youth, will take the stage.
There will also be events at Tallipiha Stable Yards throughout the summer, offering something for both adults and children. The program includes music, flea markets, and fairs, among other things.
Experience Tampere’s most popular summer events on the rooftop terrace of Restaurant Periscope. Offerings include outdoor movies, yoga, and a Caribbean atmosphere.

Sports are best experienced live
The 2025 Disc Golf World Championships will be held in Finland for the first time when the world’s biggest Frisbee golf event lands in Tampere and Nokia from July 30 to August 3, 2025.
Europe’s best junior athletes will meet at the European Athletics U20 Championships at Ratina Stadium from August 7 to 10.
The international fitness event IVV Olympiads will be held in Tampere from August 14 to 17. The IVV Olympiads traditionally include walking, cycling and swimming, with orienteering and canoeing also taking place in Tampere. Venues include the Keskustori area, Laikunlava, Kauppi and Kaukajärvi. The routes run around the city.
The European Basketball Championship will be played in Tampere in late summer 2025 for the first time in 58 years. One of the group stages of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will be played at Nokia Arena in Tampere at the turn of August and September.
Throughout the summer, both men‘s and women’s football matches by Ilves will be played at the new Tammela Stadium in Tampere. Additionally, you can enjoy the excitement of baseball provided by Manse PP at the Kauppi baseball stadium.
American football can be watched in Tampere as well. The Tampere Saints women’s Finnish Maple League home matches are also played at Pyynikki Sports Field. The Saints women compete at the highest level, in the Maple League.
For art lovers
You can also admire the Finlayson Art Area again this summer! It’s one of Finland’s largest art events, showcasing many art pieces in Finlayson’s indoor galleries, public spaces, and courtyards. The artworks of the area will be on display from June 13 to August 24, 2025.
Music and festival atmosphere
The festival summer kicks off in Tampere’s Santalahti beach park with the Radio Nova Festival on 13–14 June, 2025, with performers including Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, KAJ and Jenni Vartiainen.
This summer, the legendary Tammerfest will celebrate its 30th anniversary on 17–19 July, 2025, with acts such as Haloo Helsinki, Mirella, Erika Vikman, Popeda and Juha Tapio.
Tampere’s heaviest festival will take place in the beautiful Viikinsaari on 1–2 August, 2025 Tampere’s heaviest festival in August, SaariHelvetti, will feature Stamina, Insomnium and Swallon the sun.
In August, there is no need to worry about the end of summer, as the new international mega-festival Tampere City Festival will be held in the Messu- ja Urheilukeskus area on 8–9 August, 2025. Timbaland, performing for the first time in Finland, will be at Tampere City Festival!
The biggest hiphop festival in the Nordic countries, Blockfest, 15–16 August, 2025, will feature acts such as A$ap Rocky, ibe, Central Cee, Ty Dolla $ign and Sexmane.
The Festival- festival will offer top-level mainstream and indie music in a boutique festival format on 22–23 August, 2025. Festival will take place in the beautiful green surroundings of Pyynikinharju and will feature Ege Zulu, J. Karjalainen and Pehmoaino.
Festival summer tops Vauhti Kiihtyy! Tampere, which will take place at the Hakametsä Ice Hall parking area on 29–30 August, 2025. The two-day festival will feature a great line-up of Finnish artists, including BESS, Kaija Koo, Erika Vikman, Popeda, Mikael Gabriel and Benjamin.
The Hiedanranta Garden Party is a delightful end-of-summer party on 16 August, 2025. There will be music, performances, a children’s programme, art, dance, circus and a glimpse into the sustainable district of the future, as well as fun activities and a community atmosphere!
