Grammy-winning pianist Marian Petrescu arrives in Nuutajärvi, the historic glass village. Petrescu’s playing cannot be described; it must be experienced!

Marian Petrescu performs both classical pieces and jazz. Originally from Romania, Petrescu moved to Finland and has received numerous awards as a pianist. A significant achievement in his career is the Grammy Award he received in 2009 from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in the USA. Petrescu is the first Finnish jazz musician to win a Grammy. In Finland, he has garnered praise, notably for his nearly 20-year tenure as a regular performer at the Pori Jazz Festival.

Petrescu, who began playing the piano at the age of four, describes the most important elements in music as sound, then beauty, and feeling.

Located in the Pirkanmaa region, the Nuutajärvi glass village will host the first-ever “Glass Village Glows & Sounds” concert series in the summer of 2024. The series will open with Marian Petrescu’s “A Tribute to Oscar Peterson” concert. The atmosphere and acoustics of the historic Glass Warehouse, combined with top-tier performers, will captivate the audience.

The event duration is approximately 1.5 hours (including an intermission). Refreshments will be available in the Glass Warehouse during the intermission.
