Tampere Theatre and Tampere Hall proudly present: The Lord of the Rings

Tampere Theatre and Tampere Hall invite you to the adventure of a lifetime as J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved classic, The Lord of the Rings™, has its world premiere at the Grand Hall of Tampere Hall on August 23, 2024. This unique production combines unforgettable theatrical art, music composed by Tuomas Kantelinen for the play and performed by the Tampere Philharmonic, and the astonishing circus art of Sorin Sirkus.

Hobbits, elves, orcs, Ents, and other characters come to life as the epic fantasy adventure of the English author J.R.R. Tolkien transforms onto the stage in an unprecedented way. Directed by Mikko Kanninen and adapted for the stage by Sami Keski-Vähälä based on Kersti Juvan’s Finnish translation, the grand production is produced by Tampereen Teatteri and Tampere Hall. Jonas Rannila conducts the Tampere Philharmonic.

The lead roles are brilliantly portrayed by actors such as Ella Mettänen (Frodo), Antti Reini (Aragorn), Ville Majamaa (Gandalf), and Risto Korhonen (Gollum). There will be a total of 32 performances between August 23, 2024, and January 11, 2025.

The production is recommended for ages school-age and above, and the language of the performance is Finnish.
