Signs of the last ice age are still visible at Alkkianvuori in the shore’s rocks, the slope marsh, and more. Come and visit this unique site!

The Alkkianvuori nature trail features a sharply outlined watershed that includes rocky shores and a slope marsh that tell the tale of the last ice age. This natural site is one of the most important ones in the Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark. The guide will explain the geological history of the mountain and the special features of the area’s nature, not to forget the Karvia auxiliary prison and the activities of the Finnish Forest Research Institute.
