Feel the summer vibes in Tampere’s summer cafés!
We have many lovely little cafés here in Tampere during summer time. So sit down, relax, have a cup of coffee or an ice-cream and just enjoy. However, you should know that most of the cafés are open only if weather permits, so it’s possible they are closed if it’s too cold or rainy.
Bakery Café Puusti’s Bike Café can be found in a park, on a beach, or somewhere else around the city of Tampere! In other words, you can always enjoy Puusti’s famous delicious cinnamon buns wherever there is a Bike Café! Of course, coffee and cold lemonade are also available. Park Café Pulu is located in Sorsapuisto park, near Tampere Hall. The café serves coffee, pastries, buns and waffles and it’s open from the beginning of June until late August every day at 10-18. Pulu also organises flea market in the park area every Sunday 31.5.-30.8. at 10-16 (weather permitting).
Summer Café TÖNÖ is a small café built in a shipping container by the lake Pyhäjärvi, South park area (Eteläpuisto). Besides a good cup of coffee they serve home made salty and sweet pastries, fresh smoothies, ice-cream and light portions of food. They also serve gluten free, nut free and vegan options. The café is open the whole summer (weather permitting).
Summer Café Pyynikin Hiekkarannat is located by Pyynikki beach. The café is open from the beginning of June every day, with weather reservations until the end of August at 11-20. The selection will be versatile, sweet to salty. The café is based on Wilson Coffee’s Kenyan 100% Arabic coffee and specialty coffees, and Carte D’or Gelateria Italian-style premium ice-creams. The café is not serving alcohol but in addition to refreshments, they offer quality non-alcoholic beers, ciders, summery juices, and smoothies.
Rauhaniemi sauna’s summer café is located in Rauhaniemi, by the lake Näsijärvi, about 2,5 km from the city centre. The café offers local ice cream, salty snacks and coffee. The summer café is open in June and July at 10-20 (weather permitting).
Uittotunneli Café is located in Pispala near Uittotunneli, an old log floating tunnel, on the shore of the lake Näsijärvi. Besides an amazing view across the lake you can enjoy their legendary pancakes. The café is open every day 2.5.-30.8. at 11-19.
There’s also a summer cafeteria at the Hatanpää Mansion in Arboretum approximately 2 km from Tampere city centre. Enjoy a warm meal or a cold drink either in the café or take it with you and have a picnic in the park. The café is open, weather permitting, from Tuesday to Sunday at 12-18 (kitchen is open until 17.30), closed on 6.6., 13.6. and 4.7.
Summer Café Arboretum is a charming café in the gorgeous Hatanpäänpuisto-Arboretum by the lake Pyhäjärvi. The café sits by the rose garden next to Hatanpää Mansion. The park area can be accessed for free. In addition to freshly made delicacies and ice cream, the café has a selection of gift items. Café Arboretum is open from Tuesday to Sunday at 11-18 from May until the end of September, and if it’s still warm enough, even in October.
If you want to experience the Finnish countryside with domestic animals and all the peace and quiet, visit Tuulentie farm’s summer café in Teisko, Kaanaa village. The café serves breakfast and home made pastries, strawberries, jams, etc. You can also stay over night on the premises! Café is open every day from June onwards at 10-18.
Liuttu farmhouse (Liutun Maalaistalo) is a lovely old farm house located in Teisko, Pohtola village. In the house you’ll find a café, a vintage style shop and a little museum with the house’s old tools. There are donkeys, sheep and chicken to keep you company. Café is open 6.6.-25.8. on Saturdays and Sundays at 12-16 (closed during Midsummer 19.-21.6.2020).
