In the park

This summer, you can spot Cafe Aamunrusko’s coffee bike in the parks of Tampere, for example, Koskipuisto park. The café bike sells Aamurusko’s delights, such as coffee, pastries and refreshments.

A new charming summer cafe, Hempee x Minetti, has just opened in Hiedanranta, offering the summer’s hit product: ice cream sandwiches! You can choose between white chocolate, dark chocolate, or gluten-free cookies with Minetti’s delicious ice cream in between. Of course, the cafe also sells coffee and iced coffee. The family-friendly Cafe Lempi is located next to the Pikku Kakkonen playground. After a break, Lempi is reopening with a refreshed look under new ownership. The menu includes light snacks like toast and croissants, as well as ice cream and waffles. Open daily from 10 am to 6 pm.

By the lake

Biitsibiili is a colourful van that brings a smile to your face. It is located by the Tahmela beach (Pyhäjärvi). There is ice cream, hot dogs, French fries and mini pancakes on the menu. Biitsibiili is open from 11 am to 7 pm (weather permitting).

Summer Café TÖNÖ is a small café built in a shipping container by the lake Pyhäjärvi, South park area (Eteläpuisto). They don’t only serve you a nice cup of coffee, but also homemade savory or sweet pastries, fresh smoothies, ice cream and light portions of food. Gluten free, nut free and vegan options available. The café is open the whole summer (weather permitting).

Summer Café Pyynikin Hiekkarannat is located by the Pyynikki beach. The cafe offers savory and sweet snacks, Wilson Coffee’s Kenyan 100% Arabic coffee and specialty coffees, and Carte D’or Gelateria Italian-style premium ice creams. The café is open everyday until the end of August (weather permitting).

Rauhaniemi sauna summer kiosk is located in Rauhaniemi, by the lake Näsijärvi, about 2,5 km from the city centre. The café offers local ice cream, savory snacks and coffee. The summer café is open 11 am to 8 pm in until August 7th (weather permitting).

Laelta, located in Ranta-Tampella, offers savory bites, coffee, cocktails, and wines. The cafe is situated in one of the most beautiful spots in Tampere and is open from 10 am to 11 am. They also host Club Nights every Thursday at 7 pm to 8 pm, featuring yard games for adults.

While visiting Arboretum

There’s also a summer cafeteria at the Hatanpää Mansion in Arboretum approximately 2 km from Tampere city centre. Have a warm meal or a cold drink either in the café or take it with you and have a picnic in the park. The café is open, weather permitting, from June 4th from 11am to 7pm, and in July until 8pm. The café and boutique are closed during private occasions.

Summer Café Arboretum is a charming café in the gorgeous Hatanpäänpuisto Arboretum by the lake Pyhäjärvi. The café is situated by the rose garden next to the Hatanpää Mansion. The park area can be accessed for free. In addition to freshly made delicacies and ice cream, the café has a selection of gift items. Check the opening hours from café’s Facebook page.

In the countryside

If you want to experience the Finnish countryside with domestic animals and all the peace and quiet, visit Tuulentie farm summer café in Teisko, Kaanaa village. The café serves breakfast and homemade pastries, jams, etc. You can also stay over night on the premises! The Café is open 11 am to 6 pm every day.

Liuttu farmhouse (Liutun Maalaistalo) is a lovely old farm house located in Teisko. In the house you’ll find a café, a vintage style shop and a little museum with some old tools. There are donkeys, sheep and chicken to keep you company. The Café is open until August 28th on weekends between 12 – 4pm.
