Experience museums for free! Tampere Region has some wonderful museums to visit free of charge. Note that in some, admission is free every day whereas in others, only specific hours allow free entrance.
National Police Museum
This unique museum introduces the traditions, working conditions, uniforms and official vehicles of different units of the Finnish Police from the Middle Ages to the present day.
There are hundreds of interesting photos and dozens of rare documentaries on display.
Free admission. Free parking.
You can also get there by several lines of buses and trams.

Vapriikki Museum Centre
Set in an old factory building, Vapriikki brings together more than a dozen museums and exhibitions under one roof. There is e.g. the Finnish Ice Hockey Museum, Postal Museum, Mineral Museum and Natural History Museum. Temporary exhibitions cover a variety of topics: from the history of Finnish fashion to the Ice Age.
Entrance to permanent exhibitions is free of charge on Fridays from 3pm to 6pm.
(Note: Free admission does not apply to changing exhibitions, such as the Monkeys Exhibition.)

The Finnish Labour Museum Werstas
This museum brings together Industry Museum and the Steam Engine Museum, displaying machines used at the old Finlayson factory, as well as temporary exhibitions of Finnish working life.

Museum Milavida
The Milavida Museum introduces the visitor to the life of Tampere’s cosmopolitans, the Nottbeck.
The museum has also always a changing theme exhibition presenting fashion and design.
The exhibitions of the museum in Näsilinna can be visited free of charge on Fridays from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Automobile Museum Vehoniemi
The most popular museum of automotive history in Finland is situated in Kangasala, about 20 kilometres from Tampere city centre. All presented cars are in excellent condition. The museum has a delightful café that uses cake recipes from the 1920s.

Tampere Art Museum
Exhibitions of Finnish contemporary art are on display at the Tampere Art Museum.
The art museum and museum shop are closed during exhibition exchanges.

Workers’ Museum Quarter Amuri
In this museum you can get to know to the imaginary houses and life stories of the
working population in Tampere between years 1882 and 1973.
