Morning

The day starts best with a good breakfast or brunch. For breakfast head to the Market Hall. Many cafés and also Restaurant 4 vuodenaikaa serve breakfast. Check out also Restaurant Puisto and Pella’s café. For brunch great options are for example Restaurant Muusa, Heart of Spain in the Market Hall and atmospheric Café Pispala.

You can also begin your morning with a sauna experience in the World’s Sauna Capital, Tampere. While you are visiting Tampere, it’s essential to visit at least one sauna during your stay. A morning session in the sauna, followed by a plunge into a frosty lake, ensures a vivid start to your day, leaving you feeling fantastic. In Sauna-Restaurant Kuuma you can combine your sauna time with a delightful breakfast.

Afternoon

Tampere is located between two lakes, lake Näsijärvi and lake Pyhäjärvi. These two are joined with Tammerkoski rapids floating throught the city. Take a walk from one lake to another and walk along the rapids in the city centre. Start from Ranta-Tampella district and visit Laelta café and restaurant. Their outdoor terrace is one of a kind regarding the view as well as the seats.

You can also take a walk on the lake or rent a kick sledge or tour skates and enjoy the wintry lake nature. They also rent skates and kick sledges from their Bikini Bar rental and shop in Kaupinoja.

At the other end you’ll find Finlayson area and the Tallipiha Stable Yards. Here you can feel the history of Tampere and the area has plenty of interesting museums, shops and cafés to visit. Grab some lunch for example from Plevna or Restaurant Tampella.

Tampere has a great selection of Finnish design, second hand and vintage shops. For Finnish design head to Aleksis Kiven katu street or the Design Distrtict og Tampere located between Hatanpään valtatie, Otavalankatu, Aleksanterinkatu and Verkatehtaankatu. Evening

Tampere food scheme makes you Hungry for Tampere! Quality restaurants with dishes made from great local ingredients make the city interesting for foodies, too. Test out the newcomers Bistro Eloisa, Nonni and Haarla or enjoy the classics like Restaurant Näsinneula, Tillikka and Tiiliholvi.

Award winning concert hall, old movie theatre turned into a music venue, a building used for receiving, dispatching, and temporarily storing freight… Tampere has many interesting venues to enjoy music. Great selection of gigs and concerts guarantee you’ll find something for all tastes. Make sure you visit at least G Livelab, Olympia and Tavara-asema!
